About Nugget
They are very shy cats and will need a very patient and understanding home that will give them the time needed to blossom. Arden Intake: 09/23/2023; DOB: 04/23/23 Nugget Intake: 2/13/2020; DOB: 3/30/2019 Arden and Nugget are a very shy duo of love and are great with other cats. Due to their shy nature and that they do not enjoy being held or picked up we recommend a home without young children. They have no history of interacting with dogs and both have never lived in a home before. Both were live trapped several years ago next to the shelter and have come such a long way. Arden and Nugget are very playful, and enjoy bouncy balls, wands and feathers. Nugget absolutely goes wild for the laser light and she will chase that red dot purrever, so be sure to mix in some tangible toys to prevent her from being frustrated. They do not enjoy being pet in the shelter setting, however they are learning to be comfortable around people with positive based methods. Arden is very food motivated and if you have a calm, gentle demeanor he will relax around you. Nugget is toy motivated, so get your laser light charged up and ready for some bouncing action. Our volunteers work steadily to help socialize cats like them so that they are comfortable around people and help them to generalize interactions so that comfort can transfer to new and unfamiliar people. This will also help with a transition to a potential home. Since Arden and Nugget transitioned to our Main Floor their bond has grown stronger. They are always nearby one another, lean on each other for comfort and have so much fun playing together.

Ideal Home for Nugget
A quiet home with very patient, experienced cat owners who understand that trust is earned slowly with shy cats. No young children. No dogs (no history with dogs). Must be adopted together with Arden. Multiple visits to the shelter are strongly encouraged before adoption. AHS Behavior Team support is available throughout the adoption.
